The Barber Shop Experience

Most people who go to the barbershop for haircuts do not understand a lot about the barbershop or its traditions.

When people think about the barbershop, they usually think about things such as the barbers clippers, the cape, the sounds of the clippers etc, the red, white, and blue pole, that basically is an image that is tied to the barbershop tradition.

People also remember the barbershop chairs that spin around and go up and down to make adjustments for the people sitting in the chairs. {As kids we all loved to spin in the chairs}

Typically the first thing that most people think about regarding the barbershop is the professional barber haircuts.

Even though haircuts are the primary draw for most people that go to the barbershop, many still do not understand what it really takes to get the license and pass the State test to become a barber. It is a program in which you go to school and receive the education you need to pass the State test which is a culmination of all that you have learned in the past 1.5 years of education. During the school time, you are required to complete a specific number of procedures, tests are taken and at the end of the schooling then you get to study for the State Board Test. When you pass the test you are given your license to practice the art of barbering.

Now the barber has to find a shop willing to give him/her a chance to build their chair. This takes time and patience by the barber and doesn't happen over night. It's a lot of free haircuts just to get clients in your chair and to promote your work.

Barbers that provide GREAT haircuts are gifted and talented individuals who make people look amazing with great haircuts, but what keeps these same people coming back week after week, month after month, and year after year is the customer service. We are very proud of our good customer service.

In the end, we know people can go a lot of places to get haircuts; however, the barbers at our shop provide amazing haircuts combined with sensational customer service. The combination is incredible and it keeps people coming back over and over again.

Family owned and operated since 1958. The shop is now being run by the original owners son and daughter-in-law. Craig has been working there for the past 29 years and Joy on and off for that time as well. .
